A Los Viñateros Bravos Granítico - Cinsault 2021
Leonardo Erazo, Itata Chile
Organic, Biodynamic, Natural
The Itata wine region, on the edge of the south Pacific and south of the Chile's capital, Santiago, is well known for the cultivation of unique and traditional grape varieties as well as a unique terroir resulting from high altitudes, cooler climate, and well-draining alluvial soils.
In recent years, a number of viticulturists practicing in natural, traditional, and minimal-intervention oenology have become well-known in the region, including Leonardo Erazo of A Los Viñateros Bravos. After practicing for many years as a soil scientist and geologist since graduating from a University of Chile with a degree in Agronomy & Oenology, Leonardo believes that minimal intervention, both in the vineyard and the cellar, best showcases the natural expression and terroirs of his grapes.
Working with 60-year old Cinsault vines, Granitico 2021 is a delightful, medium bodied and aromatic red with a long, slightly smoky finish. This wine is a testament to the traditional methods of Chilean winemaking and the unique character of the Cinsault grape.
